She Kills Monsters: Virtual Realms by Qui Nguyen tells the story of Agnes Evans as she leaves her childhood home in Ohio following the death of her teenage sister, Tilly. When Agnes finds Tilly’s Dungeons and Dragons notebook, she stumbles into a journey of discovery and action-packed adventure in the imaginary world that was Tilly’s refuge. 

In this high-octane dramatic comedy laden with homicidal fairies, nasty ogres, and 90s pop culture, acclaimed young playwright Qui Nguyen offers a heart-pounding homage to the geek and warrior within us all.

THANK YOU to everyone who came out to support our two live screenings of She Kills Monsters, projected outdoors at the historic Greek Theater on campus. It was fantastic to see our students, families, and community come together for the first time since March 2020.

We appreciate the contribution that the Santa Monica Ed Foundation has made to our program each year, and we would also like to thank SONIC Drive In and the other donors for their generous donations toward our projection equipment rental for this special 2021 event.
